This program, managed by the Community Partnership for Revitalization, continues to be a vital tool in securing, and keeping, revitalization grants.

Incentives for renovating a historic building

Department of Historic Resources
State and Federal Tax Credits for Historic Renovation
Properties that are contributing structures in historic districts and are renovated in accordance with state and federal requirements are eligible for a 25% state tax credit and a 20% federal tax credit. Non-contributing buildings built before 1936 are eligible for a 10% federal tax credit. Credits and deductions are also available to businesses that remove barriers to accessibility, under the Americans with Disabilities Act. Town of Rocky Mount Enterprise Zone Initiatives
Businesses locating in the Central Business District are eligible for the Town of Rocky Mount Enterprise Zone Program.
